A Wellness Business Revolution

The next big thing is the wellness business revolution. Wellness is one of the hottest trends in the world today, not just in the U S. The current boom in wellness products is being driven by the 1946-1964 baby boom generation. This group of 78 million represents 28 % of the U S population, and 50% of our 14 Trillion economy. In fact, this is a 500 billion mega-market forecast to reach one Trillion in five years. That is a growth rate of 20% per year.

The boomers of today are not the usual stereotype, but are actively doing things. They are not behaving like prior generations. Look around you; boomers are buying things that remind them of their youth. Many are just now discovering wellness products. Think how much they will spend on products that make them look good, feel good, maintain their vitality, and slow the aging process! Everyone, no matter how fit and how healthy one is, they always want to be even more fit and more healthy. They also have the resources to do it.

Traditional medicine is in the sickness business. They are reactive products and services for an existing disease or problem. Wellness businesses, in contrast, have proactive products and services provided to healthy people to make them healthier - to look better, feel better, and slow the effects of aging. Wellness products are considered to have the strongest legs of any product. Once someone has, or hears of someone who has had a positive wellness experience, they are anxious to duplicate the results. Because of this, there may never have been a business opportunity that has the potential to have such a positive impact on the lives of its customers!

A prominent economist, Paul Zane Pilzer, in his book The Wellness Revolution forecasts that the next great wave of millionaires will come from this industry. He uses the example of the California Gold Rush, where the people who made the big money were not the miners, but the suppliers of the picks, shovels and other supplies.

He also says that the majority of opportunities in wellness still await individual entrepreneurs. Mr. Pilzer also suggests that Network Marketing may be the best avenue for individual entrepreneurs to capitalize on this avalanche of demand. He emphasizes that Wellness is a real opportunity to make a lot of money, and do incredible good in the greatest industry on earth! Maybe it is the perfect industry for you?
